The new updates to ReMask 5 make it the most powerful masking software on the market. The brush is totally colored green/red/blue and you can’t see very well the image thru the color. By using ReMask’s simple 3-color tri-map technology, users have the power to quickly and easily extract even the toughest elements - hair, foliage, and transparent materials - in their photos. ReMask is designed on one simple idea: To create the best quality mask with minimal input. Topaz ReMask is perfect for the release of hair, tearing edges, areas with sharp color changes, and so on. Choose from transparent, solid color, or image backgrounds. ReMask 5 also allows you to replace and edit the background of your masked image without leaving the program. This means no host program is required and Lightroom integration is available. ReMask 5 works as a standalone program now, in addition to being a plugin. Topaz ReMask 5Ī couple of days ago Topaz released a major update to Topaz ReMask! The two biggest additions in version 5 are: Possibly that will improve if I get more familiar but I doubt it on my current experience.Īll in all a major disappointment and at the moment I regret spending my money and I may well seek a refund. It is taking me longer to produce a good selection that it did in Remask. Generally the workflow is a significant backward step with no gain in accuracy. It is just the cut out which then means a small amount of messing about to create a mask which is how I prefer to work. Looking forwards to updates but right now I wouldn’t buy. AI isn’t really useful if it doesn’t sort the finer details. I’m still an avid user of Topaz and I really hope they can take an already stellar masking tool (Remask) and make it something even better in Mask AI. My comments come after recently having quite a tricky masking job which I could only end up doing successfully using Remask 5, it just became an exercise in frustration using Mask AI. To be faced with what can only be described as a “down grade” for serious masking is quite disappointing.
